Rachel's Infamous Trifle Recipe From "Friends"—Would You Dare Try?

When you think of a trifle, what comes to mind? Well, I think of Rachel Green's trifle from that one episode of Friends where she messes up the trifle recipe. Though her friends thought it tasted "like feet," I was still curious to see if there was any way to make Rachel's recipe actually taste good. Would you dare give this recipe a try?

How to make Rachel Green's trifle

Start by following the package instructions to make the custard. Let it cool down completely before using it. In a pan, melt the butter on medium heat. Cook the finely chopped onion until it is translucent and smells fragrant.

Combine the minced beef in a skillet and cook until browned and fully cooked. Season with salt, pepper, and a touch of sugar for flavor balance. Allow it to cool after cooking. Slice canned peaches or fresh ones after draining.

Begin layering the ingredients in a trifle dish or large glass bowl starting with ladyfinger cookies at the bottom, then layer peaches and raspberries on top.

Now, apply a uniform layer of custard on the fruit before adding the cooked minced beef (yes, that's right) and the onion mixture on top.

Place a second layer of ladyfinger cookies on top of the beef layer, then add peaches and raspberries. Finally, top the trifle with a generous layer of whipped cream, spreading it evenly.

For an extra touch, add more raspberries or a dusting of cocoa powder on top of the trifle if preferred. Refrigerate the trifle for at least one hour before serving to let the flavors blend.

Lastly, say a prayer before you dig in and hope for the best!
