Chefs With The Most Michelin Stars

Look At All The Stars

The Michelin Guide began awarding stars to restaurants in 1926 and over the last century, the prestige of said stars has become something coveted by chefs around the world. It's an honor for one's restaurant to get even one Michelin star, but there are some chefs who've seen their establishments rack up 10, 20, or even more. In 2024, these are the chefs with the most career Michelin stars.

Thomas Keller: 8 Michelin Stars

Thomas Keller is the only American chef with two 3-star restaurants—one of them being the world-renowned The French Laundry, which he opened in California all the way back in 1994.

Andreas Caminada: 9 Michelin Stars

As of 2024, this Swiss chef already has nine stars and he's only 47 years old. Three of said stars come from the Schloss Schauenstein restaurant, which he has run since 2003 in Fürstenau—the smallest town in the world.

Anne-Sophie Pic: 10 Michelin Stars

The restaurant Maison Pic in France first earned its 3-star status back when it was under the eye of chef Andre Pic. In the years after he passed, the restaurant lost its stars, until Andre's granddaughter Anne-Sophie Pic took over and earned those three stars back. With 10 stars to her name, she has more than any other female chef in the world.

Alain Ducasse: 21 Michelin Stars

As in blackjack, 21 Michelin stars definitely makes you a winner—and that's how many the great Alain Ducasse has earned in his career. He was also the first chef to have a 3-star establishment in three separate cities (until his 3-star Essex House in New York City closed down in the late-2000s).

To go along with those 31 stars, Robuchon was also named "Chef of the Century" in 1989 by the Gault Millau guide.
