Only Two Michelin-Star Street Food Vendors Exist In The World

The coveted Michelin star is greatly sought after in the culinary world by both chefs and food enthusiasts. Jay Fai and Ricos Taqueria

One of these outstanding vendors is Jay Fai, situated in Bangkok, Thailand. Known as Supinya Junsuta, Jay Fai has many years of experience cooking marine dishes, including crab omelets. Her small restaurant became famous worldwide after receiving a Michelin star in 2017. Despite the award, Jay Fai still runs her humble shop, wearing her distinctive goggles and wok while preparing delicious meals for enthusiastic customers.

Ricos Taqueria, a street food vendor in Mexico City, is the other recipient of a prestigious Michelin star, becoming the second street food vendor to be honored with this recognition. Don Rafa, the owner, serves some of the city's most delicious and traditional tacos using high-quality ingredients, leading to his loyal following and Michelin star in 2018.
